How to use our dark cotton heat transfer paper

To use our dark cotton heat transfer paper should be as easy as 123, but if you don’t use it in the right way and your settings are not correct the end result could be disastrous.

Firstly, ensure that you buy quality dark cotton heat transfer paper from us.

Use standard inkjet printer ink to print onto the dark cotton heat transfer paper.  NB! Do not print with sublimation ink onto the dark cotton heat transfer paper as the image will not come out vibrant and the image will smudge and fade over time.

Adjust the pressure of your press to strong and cut out the dark cotton image around the print to your desired outline.  Use heat resistant transfer paper to lift the print from the backing paper or just remove the backing paper by hand.

Set the temperature to 170 degrees celsius and the timer to 15 seconds.

Place your garment/material onto the heat press surface and quickly “iron” the surface by closing the press for a few seconds.  Place your print at the desired location and cover it with the wax paper if you did not use transfer tape, wait for the heat press to reach temperature, then close the press.

Once the preset time has elapsed, open the press and immediately remove the print from the material.

You should end up with a final product image that is vibrant in colour and crystal clear.
