Watch this video to learn about heat transfer printing and why it is different from sublimation printing.
So, what is heat transfer printing, and why is it different from sublimation?
If you want to print on dark-coloured fabric, your options are limited.
You simply cannot sublimate on the dark-coloured fabric due to the transparency of sublimation inks.
The colour of your fabric will simply dominate the colour of your sublimation print making it almost invisible on black-coloured fabrics.
In addition to that, you are not able to sublimate on cotton at all.
The solution to this problem is heat transfer printing.
In order for your print to be visible on darker fabrics, you have to print on a white surface, and then transfer that white printed surface onto your fabric.
We sell dark cotton transfer paper that you can use for this purpose.
One thing to remember is that you have to print on dark cotton using an inkjet printer and not a sublimation printer.
You simply print on the A four dark cotton paper, cut the outline, remove the rubber surface from the backing paper, and then press it onto your fabric.
Heat transfer printing is not only limited to white polyester only. It can be done on any type and colour of fabric.
